Overview
FibriCheck offers more efficient triaging, care delivery for unknown or (a)symptomatic patients, effective detection of high-risk patients with symptom presentations, as well as evidence-based follow-up of diagnosed patients. FibriCheck also increases access and reduces variations in care that disproportionately affects marginalised/ vulnerable groups. By offering self-monitoring at home, FibriCheck provides peace of mind, improves QoL, eliminates unnecessary appointments and diagnostic waits.
“As a Belgian company, the DigitalHealth.London Accelerator programme has introduced us to an invaluable network of UK experts, who continue to guide our understanding of the NHS and support us in navigating the operating landscape. The Accelerator also facilitated pilots and commercial opportunities within key NHS trusts for demonstration of scale and spread. The efforts of the Accelerator have been immensely helpful in deepening our understanding and approach to the UK market, because ultimately, we are passionate about making it easy as possible for people to know if they have an irregular heart rhythm and subsequently preventing AF strokes from happening.”

How did the Innovation Exchange help?
FibriCheck was part of the 2020-21 DigitalHealth.London Accelerator programme supported by the London-based AHSNs, and through this they were provided one-to-one sessions with Professor Paul Wallace and Dr David Mummery to guide an evidence generation gap analysis. The programme also organised sessions to grow FibriCheck’s understanding of the UK market and put FibriCheck forward for multiple opportunities such as the Health Economics Student Partnership, pitching sessions and interviews, which helped to grow awareness of the solution.
Impact & Outcomes
FibriCheck has been recognised in the primary care cardiovascular disease prevention guidance and the UCL Partners long-term condition framework as an effective solution for AF detection and management.
The solution has been adopted in over 30 centres in the NHS, in areas such as: remote cardiac monitoring post-intervention, post-stroke discharge, improving AF detection yield and targeted detection with high-risk patients. FibriCheck have also garnered deployment partnerships with both the Eastern and Innovation Agency AHSNs.
