Overview

HCI transform pathways of care using digital patient information and platforms. They work with hospital trusts to redesign their pathways of care to include digital interventions that will make significant reductions in outpatient appointments.

HCI have supported clinicians and educated patients across multiple specialties including cardiology, maternity, physiotherapy, and podiatry, achieving an annual saving of over £350,000 in one Trust alone. They have done this through the implementation and delivery of large-scale digital health projects including an online library of over 1,000 health information videos and development of a series of long-term condition apps that help patients to better manage their care at home.

Along with in-house software developers producing apps, e-learning platforms and websites, they also have dedicated graphic designers, experienced videographers and editors, and marketing specialists supporting and driving communications for their clients.

In response to COVID-19, NHSX has secured a six-month national licence for the NHS to roll out HCI's Health and Care Video Library free of charge. This means that patients will now have access to more than 600 information videos on a range of health conditions and topics, as well as surgical procedures.

How did the Innovation Exchange help?

HCI were one of the five companies chosen for the 2018/19 cohort of the Digital Health Accelerator (DHA) South West and were provided with one-to-one specialist support through the SW AHSN. They benefited from regular opportunities to showcase their work with NHS decision-makers and influencers and were also given access to training and workshops.
