getUBetter is a digital self-management platform for common musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. The platform provides self-management recovery support for patients, through personalised, evidence-based behaviour change techniques. Each element of the care pathway is configured to the local health system and then delivered to their population. Patients can self-refer or can be prescribed during virtual or face-to-face consultations.
The HIN’s ESCAPE-pain team received requests from sites that were eager to pilot ESCAPE-pain classes using a digital platform. The team adapted to meet this need and supported sites to trial virtual delivery if they could.
This service improvement programme aims to enable primary care staff to improve lower limb vascular assessments in patients with leg ulcers to allow appropriate treatment to start earlier.
GripAble are developing gamified mobile technologies for therapy and assessment. Common equipment used for hand and arm therapy, such as thera-putty or stress balls, have not been successfully digitised. The company’s first product, GripAble™, is a digital handgrip that wirelessly connects to a mobile app, allowing patients to play fun therapy games. It has been designed to be highly portable and patient-personalised.
ESCAPE-pain is a rehabilitation programme for people with chronic joint pain that integrates educational self-management and coping strategies with an exercise regimen individualised for each participant. It helps people understand their condition, teaches them simple things they can help themselves with, and takes them through a progressive exercise programme so they learn how to cope with pain better.
